David “Go GOP” Ramadan’s Selective Holiday Greetings
Lebanese-American buffoon, Republican Party booster, and candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates David “Go Gop” Ramadan is wishing everyone “a Happy Easter as well as a belated Happy Passover.” He wants everyone to “Enjoy this special time of the year. “ Well, that’s very nice of David, but are his holiday wishes sincere and genuine? We don’t think so. We remember last Christmas when David was sending out a Merry Christmas tweet almost every other day, and completely ignored the Muslim holiday Eid Al-Adha a few weeks earlier. David’s insecurity in this country and overcompensation for his minority Arab Muslim status explains his selective holiday greetings. We think it’s wonderful to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, a Happy Passover, or any other greeting associated with the myriad of religious and ethnic celebrations that take place in the United States around the year, but David, who refuses to say he’s a Muslim and prefers to tell everyone he was “born to a Muslim family”, is doing all he can to disassociate from his Muslim background. Why is that? Is David ashamed of his religious background? Is he intimidated by the anti-Islamic rhetoric coming out of his own Republican Party? Does he feel a majority of voters in his district are Islamophobic bigots that will not vote for a Muslim? Does David really believe the majority of Americans are bigots? Those around David should advise him to stop running from his background, and it’s time for him to stop acting on the assumption a majority of people in this country are bigots incapable of accepting an Arab or a Muslim unless he completely disassociates from his ethnic or religious background. The people David left behind in his childhood neighborhood in Southern Beirut would be amused by his transparent Americanism, and his efforts to distance himself from his Arab-Islamic background would get no more but a “good riddance” from them, but for the vast majority of people in this country the façade he presents in public and the assumptions about Americans that appear to guide his behavior are insulting. Just like his expressions of patriotism and love for America, David’s Easter and Passover greetings are as disingenuous as they are transparent. The few Americans that came to know you aren’t falling for your act David, and what’s your real name anyway?
